I'm not so good at this photography thing.
Hello, my two followers. As you can see, I'm not so great at this photo-a-day thing. I'm still trying though. Do I get points for that? My friend Hans and I had dim sum at Star Kitchen this morning, followed by a visit to the Pacific Ocean International Marketplace. What a crazy place! Above are a few things that caught my eye.

Weinachtsgurke
Time to take down the mini tree and pack it away for the next 11 months. (Yes, I own a mini green sparkly tree with lights that sits dangerously close to the ceiling. When you own a destructive cat, this is pretty much the only way to enjoy a tree.) This glass Christmas Pickle is my favorite ornament, and I'm sad to say that a quick web search has just dashed my beliefs that hanging a pickle in your tree brings you a year of good luck. Oh, what does the Internet know anyway. I might just keep my pickle out all year long.
I stopped into High*Rise on Larimer for a breakfast sandwich this afternoon (I got a late start due to all those mimosas yesterday), and was amused to find that they gave their signature mural a sweater for the chilly season. I love the feel of this place and the giant "HI!" sign on the wall always makes me smile.
And finally, onto Mr. Jack, my favorite photography candidate. He wasn't very stoked about having a camera stuck in his face for about 10 minutes, and I wish you could see the series of shots I took, which show him getting progressively pissed off. I like how you can see my reflection in his eye.
Music, Mimosas and Moretti at Marco's
Hmm. This whole photo-a-day thing is already harder than I thought. I'm definitely not a great photographer, and find it difficult to choose just one photo that looks appealing and balanced.
And evidently I'm obsessed with food photos. This is the nutella dessert pizza from Marco's Coal Fired Pizza on Larimer. I definitely prefer my savory pizza over sweet, but this one (filled with either fresh strawberries or bananas) was impossible to resist.
Yesterday I spent the afternoon eating, drinking, and listening to tunes with a great group of friends. Brunch turned into lunch turned into dinner (then bed), thus the delayed posting. Now, if I could only figure out how to upload additional photos from that crazy night. Blogger, why are you so picky?

Pho'ing in the New Year
Ahhhh, pho. What a great way to start off the new year! Nothing cures what ails you (or your monster hangover) like a big bowl of this stuff. Never tried it? You don't know what you're missing! Full and flavorful broth (at least if you go to the right place - this bowl was from Pho 95 on Federal), delicious noodles, the meat of your choice, all spiffed up with jalapenos, lime, sprouts, and basil. Yum. My only word of caution: don't go all crazy with the sriracha, because once you've overdone it, you can't go back.
I have to give props to Sophiechan for giving me the idea for this 365 photo journey. It's so easy to forget about the amazing experiences we have every day. What could be easier than posting a photo each day?
(Check back with me in December.)
Happy new year!

Happy new year!
The Rules (according to Three6TFive)
a picture a day, for one year. in the end, 365 photos.
but day 1 is Jan. 1, 2010.
here are some rules for the photos -- I love rules, so I'm sure there'll be more:
1. although I will take (at least) one picture a day, I may not be able to post the picture that same day -- posting pictures from consecutive days is fine (it just has to be)
2. pictures can be taken with any camera, including my IPhone or any other phone
3. pictures can have the same theme, but not the same subject (i.e. animals okay, 3 pictures in a row of the cat? not okay)
4. what's worth posting is my call :)
5. editing and cropping are allowed
